No country in the world has a constitution as long as India. At present, it has a preamble, 448 articles in 22 parts, 12 schedules, 5 appendices, and 115 amendments.
The Indian constitution was not only written in English or Hindi. It was originally written in both Hindi and English.
The fun fact is that it was not printed or typed. It was handwritten in Hindi and English in a calligraphy font.
Each and every page of the constitution was decorated by Artists. A group of artists of West Bengal’s famous Viswa Bharati school at Santiniketan decorated it.
There were over 2000 amendments made before its final look.
The original copies of the constitution are preserved in the Central Library of the Parliament. To make it safe and long-lasting, it is kept in a box filled with helium gas.
To give it its final look, several rounds of thorough discussions took place from time to time by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
